Currently, the team is headed by Abbie Chapman, assisted by a hardworking, enthusiastic team of students.

This year, the programming has been formatted to suit you. It will have all the top stories concerning students as well as stories on science and arts. We will also have event information and game, film and music reviews, so listen in if you want to know what to buy or see! We will end with a roundup of the top sports stories from your Uni teams.
In addition to this, there is a live Surge News show from 12pm on Mondays, providing more in-depth investigations and reports on the latest news from in and around your University. To get involved, listen at 12pm and join the Facebook and Twitter pages by searching 'Surge News'; send in your views and get your voice on the radio!
Surge Newsweek has a very successful record at the annual Student Radio Awards, winning awards in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and this is something we are always looking to improve upon. Consequently we are all very hard working and always seeking to improve our content in any way possible...If you have any ideas or comments or would like to join our team, we would love to hear from you at
