Artist Biography

Sum 41 is a Skate Punk band from Ajax, Ontario, Canada. The band was formed from members of several local high school bands, 41 days into the summer of 1996.

The band consists of:

Deryck Whibley a.k.a. Bizzy D (lead vocals, guitar)

Jason McCaslin a.k.a. Cone (bass, backing vocals)

Steve Jocz a.k.a. Stevo32 (drums, backing vocals).

Since signing a record deal with Island Records in 1999, the band has released four full length albums, one EP, and more than ten singles. The band's sound is a combination of classic pop-punktracks (like Green Day, The Offspring or blink-182), metaltracks (like crossover-trash bands), hard rock and post-grungeinfluenced tracks (sounds like Lit).

In 2001 Fat Lip was used on the American Pie 2 Soundtrack.

On May 16, 2006 it was announced to the world via their official website that Dave "Brownsound" Baksh had left the band to, as Dave himself stated, "pursue a new musical path". He claimed he could not express himself fully with the guitar in Sum 41, and has now formed his own reggae metal band (Brown Brigade).
