Artist Biography

The most popular virtual band ever (Guinness World Record 2002 & 2006). The creators of the band are Damon Albarn of Blur and artist Jamie Hewlett of Tank Girl fame. Gorillaz started out in 1998 and have released 2 studio albums Gorillaz (2001) and Demon Days (2005), a b-sides collection G-Sides (2001) and a remix of the Gorillaz album called Laika Come Home (2002). They have also released three DVDs, "Phase One: Celebrity Takedown", "Demon Days Live at Manchester Opera House" and "Phase Two: Slow Boat To Hades".

The members of the band are 2D (vocals, keyboards), Noodle (guitar, vocals), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar) & Russel Hobbs (drums). These characters are fictional and are not alter-egos of real people, as it is often mistaken. The autobiographical story behind these characters and the band as a whole can be found in their book Rise Of The Ogre.
