Corinne Bailey Rae is an acclaimed British singer who released her eponymous debut album in February 2006. Gaining a wide spectrum of support, Corinne was named the number one predicted breakthrough act of 2006 in an annual BBC poll of music critics - a title she has lived up to after becoming only the fourth female British act in history to have their first album debut at Number One.
Originally a member of indie band Helen, she branched out on her own when the band failed to get widespread support.
Her big break came when she stood in for another artist at the last minute on the BBC TV show Later...With Jools Holland
