The Coral is a British band that plays an unusual style of music mixing psychedelic pop/rock, old fashioned country, folk music and modern rock. Their music is often used in the soundtrack to TV adverts and programmes making their music well known even though the band itself is still outside of the mainstream. Although they have a fan base in the North American market, and a rather large following in their home country, they have yet to achieve a mainstream audience.
The Coral have released 3 full-length albums - their self titled debut The Coral, its follow up Magic and Medicine and their most recent The Invisible Invasion, as well as a mini-album Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker. All their albums besides their most recent were produced by The Lightning Seeds singer/songwriter Ian Broudie.
Their music has been featured on the television show Scrubs.
The Coral are signed to the Deltasonic record label along with other acts, generally from or based in Liverpool, such as The Zutons, The Dead 60s and The Basement.
