Surge AGM and Elections

The SUSU Student Leader results are in! Congratulations to Ben Morton (current Tech Manager) who is your NEW SURGE RADIO STATION MANAGER!

However, after Easter (Tuesday 24th) in the Bridge Bar we will have our Surge AGM, looking back over the year gone and electing the new committee. These are the positions available:

Assistant Manager - ???
Taking minutes at committee meetings
Organising orders of Surge apparel
Supports the station manager
Internal Communication (Newsletter)
Organising Committee Meetings
Leading the yearly ‘Welcome to Southampton’ series

Programme Controller - ???
Organises the schedule
First port of call for concerns and support of the On Air Team
Ensures the On Air Team are trained and have signed a DJ contract

Head of Show Development - ???
In charge of organising show feedback
Supporting the Programme Controller in training of the on air team
Coordinating all advanced DJ training

Head of Features - ???
Liaising with external organisations about interviews and gig opportunities
To lead the Features Team
In charge of communicating with the On Air team to upload show features
Organise getting features (internal and external) into our On Air content

Head of Speech - ???
To work with the Programme Controller to ensure development of speech shows on Surge
Facilitate the creation of pre-recorded speech production pieces
Act as a contact for DJs looking to enhance the speech content of their shows

Online Manager - ???
To lead development of the Surge website

Technical Manager - ???
In charge of the safety and improvement of all studio equipment
To lead and develop the Technical Team
To ensure the servers are fully operational

Head of Marketing - ???
Leading on all physical advertising
In charge of organising all promo outside of our own social media and website
To lead the Marketing Team
To develop a strategic marketing plan for the year ahead

Social Media Manager - ???
Leading posts on Facebook and Twitter and facilitating other committee members to do the same
In charge of creating our online ‘voice’ for social media and our website

Head of Events - ???
Head of organising socials
In charge of overseeing and organising all outside broadcasts
To lead organisation of Conferences and external events

Head of Music - ???
In charge of maintaining and updating the Surge Playlists
Development of our back catalogue
To lead the Music Team
Liaising with external organisations about single promotions

Head of News - ???
To lead the Surge News Team
Organise Surge News updates
Develop other areas of news posts (on air, website, social media)

Head of Station Sound - ???
Defining and maintaining a full jingle package
Leading the station sound team
Organising adverts for SUSU groups and promotions
In charge of building an appropriate catalogue of ‘beds’ for the On Air team
